BKB expalined it. IN the 3-way tie, since they didn't all play, they look at the record vs. common opponents. Of the teams they all played, they all beat everybody except UCLA vs. Arizona. Based on that, they eliminate UCLA, and then move on to head-to-head for the 2 remaining teams. Since USC beat Oregon, they win the automatic bid.

Pretty stupid procedure.

Wrong, USC has played one extra game I believe. Aren't they 11-0 and UCLA 9-1?

I considered piling on myself too, but I was too late. I forgot about the stupid pac10 system. I suppose they don't really know what football is on the west coast, but that is a remarkably dense system.

PAC 10 tie break system in a 3 way (which it would be with UCLA, USC and Oregon having 1 conf. loss) looks to record v. common opp.s first - UCLA lost to Zona, whereas USC and Oregon beat Zona. Thus, UCLA eliminated, then go to head to head as between USC and Ducks. USC won. USC goes.

A UGA win wouldn't effect much of anything except that UGA would beat the shit out of West Vaginia and not LSU.

It would help OSU to the extent that OSU would move up 1 more notch on the BCS ladder.
