This narrative that Georgia didn't play well against Bama cause they weren't fired up and now they are playing for all the marbles it'll be different is stupid. Knocking their biggest threat out of the playoffs wasn't a reason to give a shot?

I really think a couple years of Aranda with LSU talent would have pushed Saban into retirement. Dude's defenses play hard af.

the guy is also ridiculously smart.
i watched some film session type show on him when we first hired him as DC.
the level of detail in his breakdowns is off the charts.

hell earlier this year he kicked a meaningless FG at the buzzer because he knew the 3rd tie breaker for conference title was linked to margin of victory or something like that.

LSU football down to 39 scholarship players for Texas Bowl vs. Kansas State, per report
By DEAN STRAKA 5 minutes ago

LSU football will have 39 players who started the year on scholarship available against Kansas State Tuesday in the Texas Bowl, according to Geaux247. That number results from a combination of academic or other suspensions, COVID-19 testing protocols, opt-outs, or players entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Included in those numbers are 20 players on offense and 19 on defense, according to Geaux247. LSU has not seen the field since the team's regular season finale against Texas A&M back on Nov. 27, and bowl practices have been closed to the media. Of LSU’s scholarship players, 27 missed at least the half the regular season, and 44 different players started at least once during the 2021 campaign.

Interim LSU head coach Brad Davis brought a shorthanded staff to Houston to coach a much smaller group of Tigers than expected. The group that takes the field in Houston on Tuesday checks one box for new Tigers head coach Brian Kelly that should go a long way to showing their commitment to the program.

Among notable departures for LSU are Ty Davis-Price, Damone Clark and Neil Farrell, all of who opted out of the bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft. Also gone is quarterback Max Johnson — Johnson is now at Texas A&M after entering the NCAA transfer portal — and Trey Palmer claimed a spot in the transfer portal.
