Leading us closer to conferences don't mean shit. In 10 years it will be the NFL Light. Didn't the Raiders lose their division a while back but was 6-0 in their division games and finishing 8-8?
I don't think it will take 10 years.

Predictions:
1. I see a rapid end to "Big Games" especially OOC Big Games such as Ohio State v Notre Dame, Penn State v Auburn, Clemson v Georgia.
2. In less than ten years, 6 conference games, 2 games against teams outside your conference, and then a Regional playoff series, followed by a National playoff. You can bet that the ooc games will not get above the level of Citadel, Southeast Charleston, Utah School of Mining, and Akron. TV wants/needs to feed into the national north v south, coasts v midlands mentality.
3. I can only think of a couple of traditional games that will survive the need to get into the playoffs Alabama - Auburn, Ohio State - Michigan, and a possible re-birth of Texas - Texas Aggies.
4. If the trends of today's teens hold, all sports not played on computers are in danger of becoming passe in 20 years.
