The personal foul and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in SDSU-UTSA are ridiculous. You'd think this was a heated rivalry.
Mentioned yesterday but just about every bowl game I’ve watched has come with some crazy chippiness and mouthing off. Maybe kids are happy to hit someone else after a couple weeks or they want their respect on national TV but the games are littered with dumb penalties.

Today's game: Missouri vs Army in the Armed Forces Bowl in Forth Worth, Texas

Army is a well equipped, well trained, professional fighting force with excellent commanders and a robust supply chain. They can shoot move and communicate at an elite level.

Missouri on the other hand, has a long history of prosecuting successful guerilla campaigns to make up for their lack of state sponsored training and equipment.

Given that the battle isn't taking place in Missouri, I don't think they will be able to execute a successful guerilla campaign and I expect them to suffer heavy casualties. Possibly even annihilation. I do hope that should things go badly, their leaders will sue for peace given that Army is a signatory to the Geneva Convention, they can expect fair and humane treatment.

Found Gen. Grant's account.

Missouri running back Tyler Badie to skip bowl game, enter NFL draft

Missouri running back Tyler Badie, who led the SEC in rushing yards this season, will not play in Wednesday's Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl and has chosen to enter the NFL draft.

Badie, a senior and an All-American, could have returned next year by taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted to all athletes by the NCAA because of the impact of COVID-19 on the 2020 season.

Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz told reporters on Tuesday that it was his decision for Badie to sit out Wednesday's game against Army.

"His heart wants to play in this game, but as coaches, at some point we've got to step back and protect our players for their future," Drinkwitz said. "So it's been my decision that we will not play Tyler Badie in this football game.

"I know that if we asked him to play, he would play and he would take every rep just like he did against Arkansas for over 40 carries. But I cannot do that to that young man. As a program we're not going to do that."

Badie's 268 carries were the most of any Power 5 back this season.

Drinkwitz called Badie a "tremendous competitor."

Drinkwitz said that the decision of whether to play Badie was "weighing on his mind both ways."

"We wanted to take the stress off of him and not put him in a position between having to pick between himself and his future and our football team," Drinkwitz said. "As a captain, I know he wanted to play."

The absence of Badie won't be the only change in Missouri's backfield, however.

Drinkwitz announced that redshirt freshman quarterback Brady Cook will make his first career start on Wednesday.

He replaces Connor Bazelak, who has missed time this season because of a leg injury.

Badie bailing on bowl game bodes bad news for Mizzou. He's the backbone of that team. But Bazelak has been bad this year, perhaps Brady Cook could compete better, and make up for the loss of Badie. Or not.

I think the bigger factor is Mizzou's inability to stop the run all year and now facing a bunch of angry, cut blocking mo fo's who do it better than anybody. Army also doesn't suffer from "we don't want to be here" syndrome in any Bowl game so that all adds up to one big time evening of no joy for Mizzou defenders imo.

Absolutely.

One thing I didn't state, but meant to, is that the only way I see Mizzou having a shot is if they put up some points. Their defense, particularly against the run, is pitiful. And their offense, sans Badie, is not much better.
