Louisiana has had more opportunities than they deserve in this game. How many misses they've had to put Marshall away and cant make it happen. That usually bites you in the ass later.

I thought the same. And when Marshall jumped ahead 21-16 I thought that they were going to pull away.

In particular, when Louisiana, down 21-16, got that targeting penalty on the punt to Marshall. I thought that would've swung the momentum firmly into Marshall's favor, and that Ali would run Louisiana off the field.

Yet Louisiana still managed to clamp down and grind out the win. Pretty impressive considering that they are with an interim HC/OC and DC tonight.

But the game clock should have stopped on the 1st down conversion and not run until the refs ready for play whistle inside the final five minutes, unless that rule was recently changed. With two seconds you can’t spike it, but you can run a play.
The clock was stopped temporarily while they moved the chains, but with 2 seconds left as NIU was trying to run a play, the ref was behind the center preventing the hike until the clock ran out. I don’t think the offense substituted, cause that would have been moronic, so the ref should have moved away at the same time they restarted the clock, if not immediately before. His mechanics prevented a final play. I thought they should have replay reviewed the out of bounds call, but doing so would have essentially given NIU a free time out, so I think the replay ref decided not to change the clock situation by doing a review.

I was really hoping for 3 more yards and an XP, I’d be sitting at 28.5 in the upset contest if NIU had pulled it out!

Old Dominion takes the opening kickoff all the way back 100 yards. The first opening kickoff return TD in ODU history, which is a little over 20 years total.

6'8 TE for ODU is a matchup nightmare for real. ODU needs to run as much as possible though with Tulsa still rushing 3 and dropping 8. I remember this all too well.

He's a transfer from Ped State funny enough, was the #4 TE in the 2018 Class. Only caught 3 passes in 3 years there. 71 for ODU this year.

he can actually run pretty good too. You'd think maybe he'd be a lumbering guy and only redzone efficient but he is a good route runner and has decent speed. Only a SO according to the broadcast so he's got another developing year probably and possible NFL shot the next.
