Boston College 14, Virginia Tech 10 (Final)

A week ago I thought this was a slam-dunk. But BC hasn't played since the 13th, and they've had all that time to hear about how they don't have a chance in Blacksburg.

There is a big emotional edge for BC in this one. I think they'll need it to cover that spread though. Tough call IMO.

They use Callander in so many ways, and the defense will be concerned about Ryan winning the Heisman in Lane Stadium. I think Callander will have a really good game.

Good point. We'll have to wait and see.

I know one thing....that stadium will be a mad house.

I've seen Lane Stadium. Its a cute little place.

cute LOL. I see where you're coming from though. Comparing The Shoe to Maryland's Stadium is like comparing a tractor trailer to a geo metro. Nothing lives up to The Shoe.

:oh:

I think VT matches up well against BC. None of BC's receivers has seemed especially explosive, the VT DBs are going to be able to play on islands ... which leaves the Line and LBs to handle Ryan and Callender. VT's imbalanced offense is another story. If Tech cant figure out how to get Orr out of the backfield, BC's defense can just sit back and wait for the passes.

I give Tech a good chance at dominating a defensive battle and earning themselves a top 5 spot.

Both these teams have some glaring flaws. BC is more well-rounded, but I'm not convinced by Matt Ryan and Callander can be contained. Tech's defense is nasty but they depend a lot on the defense and special teams to make plays to put the offense in position - they can't sustain a drive otherwise. I say Tech in a close one, and only because of home-field advantage. I hope I'm wrong though.
