Young leads Iowa past Northern Illinois

CHICAGO - Albert Young gave Iowa some good news. The senior ran for 144 yards and a touchdown to lead the Hawkeyes to a 16-3 victory over Northern Illinois in the season opener at Soldier Field on Saturday.
Young, the Hawkeyes' eighth all-time rusher, gave Iowa a 6-0 lead on a 7-yard run early in the second quarter after Andy Brodell returned a punt 56 yards. Brandon Myers caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Jake Christensen that made it 13-0 midway through the quarter.
