I've always liked and respected the man. One of the best basketball minds of all time. If there is one person that can make you a better basketball coach, it's Knight. I even like it when he's on a fishing show!!!!!!!

Damn proud. Here's a favorite quote from him:
"The most important single ingredient to success in athletics or life is discipline. My definition of the word is as follows: Do what has to be done, when it has to be done, as well as it can be done, do it that way all the time."

Yes. I am proud that he is a Buckeye. This guy is one helluva coach, and role model (temper tandtrums aside). This guy has never broken any rules as a coach (violations), and is a good person. Knight is just a very, very intense man, especially when it comes gametime. I, myself am like this in many ways. Sometimes, you cross a line, but th eguy is a great coach, and knows when he does something wrong. Also, he's going to be the most winningest coach in NCAA history in just a little while. Who wouldn't want the NCAA's best coach in history to have been part of their school?

That's not an easy question. 10 years ago I'd say yes. Now, I don't think so. That's only because he won't be coaching much longer and I don't think it wise to hire a coach in the twilight of his career.

Knight got a lot of shit that was undeserved...from his bio on wikipedia:

But, arguably, the most controversial incident involved Knight feigning whipping black player named Calbert Cheaney in 1992, an incident which made national headlines and resulted in howls of protests by civil rights leaders. Although Knight had done the same thing to several white players, only this made the press. Knight apologized for the incident. However, Cheaney later revealed that the incident was staged for the benefit of the press after Knight's players tired of being repeatedly asked about how tough it is to play for Bob Knight. The whip, in fact, was a gift from his players. Cheaney feigned whipping Knight with a towel as a reponse to this.
