He had many faults. Uncontrolled temper. Overflowing aggression. Player abuse.

He also had many exemplary characteristics. Passion. Winning without cheating. Developing young men who finished their degrees. Discipline.

How he is remembered depends on what you want to see. I see the guy who came off the bench and helped Ohio State win its only national championship in basketball. RIP

Duality; a simple, yet very complex man with a complex legacy. Reminds me of a quote, I can't quite remember the source and I'm paraphrasing just a bit -

" Though he possessed traits that would seemingly invoke words of hellfire and damnation, so to did he possess qualities that were a cause for men to be celebrated throughout the ages".

That, to me anyway, was Bobby Knight in a nutshell. An old school hardass with a temper that would get the best of him, but also carried a heart of gold if you got to experience it.
