I deleted a file from my registary and my pc is All fucked up now!

How Do I replace that file that was in my registary, I don't even know which one it is. Gosh I really did a FUBAR. Dell takes forever and I reinstalled my XP disc and still no workey. They told me that the problem would be fixed, but to no avail

You most likely would want to try a system restore first. (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore). Try taking it back a week or 2, see if that works.

I cant believe running back through your Windows install woldnt fix it.

if the system is really FUBAR, you may need to attempt the system restore in safe mode (press F8 as your system is turning on - you will see a list of options). if that doesnt' work then you will either need to do a reformat from the dell restore cds or and if that doesnt work the it must be a PEBKAC problem.

Ah hah, you are correct sir. Actually I think I have heard it both ways. Here at work I say it's between Keyboard and Customer cause I do tech support.

trying to delete adware threat that Norton had after i did a scan. I cant even do a sytem restoe because I already installed the xp cd and it still is fubared, so I'm going to take it to a shop and have it fixed cause my warenty from Dell is expired and I cant seem to get any help from the pc gurus I know

I would just format it CCI.......

You cant replace the registry without a backup of the original.
