Man, this is one complete Houston team, especially if they are going to get that type of point guard play from Aaron Brooks. That game reminded me of the last time the Cavs played at Houston. If nobody else wants to show up, it really makes for a hell of an up hill battle for the superstar (in this case Brandon Roy, especially when your frontcourt gets outplayed by Ming & company) Yet, I feel like Roy was doing ok early on vs Ron & Shane off that high pick and roll, just didn't have much help and had to force things as the game went on. (to the tune of a 10-23 shooting night) I think everyone is now looking at Lamarcus Aldridge, a guy who was ballin' all season, yet went missing in action last night.
I was pleased with how Greg stuck with it and started giving Mutumbo the buisness. He will learn a great deal from this series. Coach will obviously have some decisions to make as far as defending Yao. I guess Pryz wanted him one on one (meaning playing him straight up without fronting), well he got Ming one on one to the tune of 9-9 FGs. I'd like to see Greg on Yao Ming from time to time.
Obviously a major challenge for Portland. Even if they get their offense together, I don't see them stopping Houston on the other end, as bad as Portland seems to want it, Houston seems to want it more..they have some tough nosed players. If Aaron Brooks didn't know that Steve Blake and Sergio can't check him, well he definitely knows now..mismatch central. And how about Brooks? Coast to coast before the half in like 4 seconds..billmac says Conley is easily the quickest in the league..well there's no way I can go with that when there are so many burners.
