Black Donnellys - NBC show

I like it... it looks promising. I watched the second episode this moring... (I'm training someone so he's doing all my work today and tomorrow :) )

I didn't expect the ending of the pilot to go down the way it did... if you liked that you'll love the second episode...

I really like it. I like the narration, and the way the story seems to be going right now. I really like that it's on at 10:00 PM and they can get away with the gratuitous violence too. Good show up to this point.

I haven't watched it, so my observations are based only on commercials I've seen. I think it looks really stupid. 2/3 of the scenes shown on commercials are either violent acts or discussions about violent acts. It looks like a show about a bunch of punk-thugs who get away with being thugs because it's "for the family".

But, like I said, I haven't watched it....

It would be nice if the networks would figure out how to market their shows. They pour a butt load of advertising into a show and put it on right behind their big ratings monster. Problem with that is. For the most part, they don't cater to the same audience. They needed to put it on a night when maybe they go for edgier programming.

i haven't found anything about the ratings, do you have links?

Here was one of them. Obviously, that's not a 25% drop like I had read elsewhere, but I don't remember where I read that.

Black News for 'Black Donnellys'
NBC's mob drama The Black Donnellys, which had a disappointing premiere a week ago, slumped even further at 10:00 p.m. this Monday night as it posted a 5.1 rating and an 8 share (versus last week's 6.0/10). The results were worse than those for the previous occupant of the Monday-night time slot -- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. A rerun of CBS's CSI: Miami won the hour with a 9.9/16.

bear, did you watch it this past monday, or just read the reviews? I thought the narration and flow was interesting... not outstanding, but it held my interest.

I would watch the home shopping network before a new episode of CSI Miami... Horatio is unwatchable.

To be honest, I haven't seen a second of it, despite being glued to NBC's Heroes just before it. I wasn't commenting one way or another on the quality of the show itself, I just remembered reading about the poor ratings.
