The Bills are close to hiring Dick Jauron as coach, and he was in Buffalo yesterday to finalize the deal, a source told the Associated Press.
Jauron went 35-46 in five seasons as Chicago Bears coach, and he was NFL coach of the year in 2001 after a 13-3 season, He spent the past two seasons as the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator and finished this past season as interim coach after Steve Mariucci was fired.
In Buffalo, Jauron replaces Mike Mularkey, who resigned Jan. 13.
