Bill Cunningham Goes all Don Imus on the UC Bearcat Basketball Team

What are you guy's talking about? He was out of line to make those comments in the first place. You want to give him a pass because he stereotyped in a way that didn't use an inflammatory word? So if I wanted to make an off-handed comment, but left out any cussing/racist terminology, I get a free pass? That's BS. Besides its not the first time Cunningham has made those type of remarks...

I remember when that kid died of an enlarged heart (when everyone thought that the police did something) and Cunningham thought it was tasteful to make fun of a deceased person's obesity and drug use in a skit. Yes, hilarious. Then he thinks its tasteful (nevermind that it actually undermined his candidates campaign) to speak at a McCain rally and call Obama by the name of Barack Hussein Obama. No I'm not ignorant, I know that that's his name, but in order to not see the incendiary nature of those comments is to NOT WANT TO SEE IT. He even calls McCain, who he supported, John "Juan Pablo" Mccain because he's not tough enough on border policy.

Sure, Imus did worse. So if someone sets a high benchmark for racism, anything below that benchmark that follows isn't racist? I know its easier to feign ignorance than to fight it but we can do better.

To be fair, I think most were saying what Cunningham said in this incident, wasn't worse than what Imus said.

Was it tasteful? No.

I'm not sure its racist either. He didn't say anything about race. He commented on a team having kids at an alarming rate....from clicking the link, I'm not sure this sound byte is even recent, there could have been white dudes having kids too.

I've tried very hard to ascertain any racial overtones (or undertones) to Cunningham's remarks. Haven't found any. Then again, I don't listen to this guy.

Perhaps one needs to consider the comments in some sort of context. Which I won't be doing, because I don't listen to this guy.

WTF has this to do with Buckeye hoop?

Wow, then you should be ticked about 25% or more of radio personalities. Hate him if you like, but it's free speech. What he said may actually be true, I don't know. If it really bugs you, call his sponsors. No one is stopping you. Yet if you think we should be all up in arms over this you are strung a little too tight.

Bill Cunningham is a right wing shock jock. He is a jackass. Yet there are many more like him, and there are plenty of people that like that kind of stuff.

BTW...what in this is racism? Please point that out, or are any comments made about a group that happens to have black people in it a racist comment? In my book what you are doing is worse than what Cunningham said. You infer racist comments where their aren't any. In fact, I think inferring racist comments when there aren't any means you are more of a racist, since you clearly make the connection from illegitimate children to race.

I'm not up in arms. I'm just saying that because of the Imus situation the bar has been raised higher for what people deem is racist terminology. I'm not just tagging racist I'm going off of a litany of prior incidents that he's racked up.

I just don't like when people want to act like this type of stuff is to be tolerated. I mean, of course he has the right to say what he wishes. So I have the right to disagree and to infer all I want to, if that's what you want to call it.

Do they have some illegitimate children? I don't know, but if they do then what he said is true.

Cunningham didn't mention race. He said they have a number of illegitimate children. The fact that you're reading that as a "racist" comment says more about you than it does about Cunningham. It appears you have an unspoken "stereotype" of your own.

Saying someone has bastard children (especially when it is TRUE) is racist???!?!?!?!

I've never listened to Bill Cunningham and I don't plan on starting any day soon. Seriously, take off the diaper and quit being so damned sensitive.
