Bijan Robinson (RB Texas Longhorns)

No reason to panic for several reasons. I think the concern around Robinson has yet to actually come to fruition. Cause for concern? Sure. Waive the white flag? No. So there's that.

Also, RB is comparatively a very easy position to recruit. "Losing" Robinson would sting, but we're going to be fine.

Finally, his recruitment is far from done in my eyes after he commits. We'll keep recruiting him either way imo.

so who's the horse and what did they say?

Poster on another board claiming he follows one of Bijan's family members. Claims she posted an Instagram story of her scrolling through Bijan's OSU twitter mentions with a caption that said "Please....only concern yourself with what comes from the horses mouth".

Can't verify it since I don't really use IG, nor do I follow any recruits there. Don't even know what it might mean frankly.

I'm just going to say... SOMETHING isn't right here.

We went from slam dunk to not even considered in 2 days.

The only logical explanation is that he never really gave a silent verbal to Ohio State and either a supposed coach source was lying, or insiders made that call assuming they would be proven to be right anyways.

Bijan claims he hasn't talked to anyone. Which means a lot of the supposed information being click baited the past 2 days is probably nonsense and the inside information was never in the REAL loop.

The family member(s) who wanted him closer is the theory that passes the Occam's Razor test to me.

You let a kid go through the decision making process then help them change their mind at the end as a parent. It's not that hard to believe.

Maybe. But all roads were pointing to Ohio State before and after he set his commitment date.
To be a supposed silent verbal through dead period, and not even be an option coming out of it would still be incredibly odd, even if distance became a sudden concern.

That's making a lot of assumption obviously. Because for all we know, Ohio State is still fighting and not out of the picture yet. Which again, makes a lot of the insider knowledge look lackluster if not flat out false.
Sure, kids have a sudden change of heart. But for distance never to play a factor until days before his commitment, that takes them out of the running completely according to insiders is inconceivable.
Especially if he ends up choosing Texas which is by no means significantly closer than Columbus.

I'd feel more confident in the "distance" scenario if insiders didn't claim Ohio State no longer has any shot at landing him, rather he's no longer a lock and has some concerns that might push back his commitment date.

I mean, if he chooses Texas ... it's pretty obvious distance wasn't the factor here no matter what the insiders are claiming. Which is essentially what Bijan eluded to late last night.

... and as one right in the middle of that process... I couldn't agree more.

"Ummm... no, you're not going to Arizona State to play club lacrosse," may or may not have come out of my mouth.

To me, Bijan comments and those of his family can only mean one of two things.

A) Bijan was never an Ohio State lock as all the experts claimed.
B) Distance was never the deciding reason on his final decision, if he has in fact made that decision already.

Either way, it makes insider information look less informative and more tabloid'ish IMHO. Now if their sources were handing out bad information, there's nothing that they can really do. But if they were selling people on false sources, that's not cool and can actually harm Ohio State's efforts, even more so than what random fans say on Twitter.
