Biggest Impact Freshman? Clarett or Ginn

I'm late on this "debate" I guess, but I'll cast my vote for Mo C as well. Clarett stepped on the field and dominated. Ginn took a few games to warm up. Without Clarett, OSU does not win the NC in 02. With Clarett, I say OSU wins the NC in 03 - he's the difference in both losses that year, Wisky and Meatchicken.

Teddy isn't a bad second place though, that's for damn sure.

Ginn may not have had the greater impact in his first year, but he'll definitely have a greater Sophmore impact.
Awesome point! Ginn could sit on his ass all season playing PS2 and still have a more valuable sophomore year. Afterall, zero is bigger than all of the negative numbers!

MoC without a doubt. A better question would be who had the biggest impact on winning the championship.
I hope you aren't keeping the answers limited to MoC and Ginn. I don't think Ginn did a whole lot to win the NC in 2002.

However, if we're talking about all players on 2002 team, my answer is CK. His awesome decision-making and on-field leadership, as well as the fact that he didn't LOSE any games makes him my pick for "biggest impact." Of course, I think that without a kick-ass defense, Krenzel wouldn't have been able to win 10 games that year. So my short, easy, fair answer is "Craig Krenzel." My cheating answer is "the entire defense."

....
No, I was trying to say (without saying it) that this question is actually a little absurd, and our time would be better spent debating a different question. The only way someone could say Ginn had a bigger impact is if either A: They hate MoC so much that they can't give him any credit for his play on the field. Or B: They never watched him play.
I was thinking about starting a poll for the question I posed, perhaps now I will.

i know im going to be the only one to say ginn here. clarett came in and exploded right from the get go and was right into the mix of things but he was very stoppable as the miami game showed us. neither clarett nor mcgahee were very active in that game. clarett IMO didnt have a real great talent athletically he just had that true vision that led him there. he was never that fast nor that quick on his feet IMO. this is why i chose ginn. i cant throw the NC game in this decision because a team wins that. IMO ginn was amazing because he wasnt given that chance that clarett had and he still came out and shocked the nation and influenced how the team made changes to the offensive schemes and the attitude the 04 team had. ginn has talent, speed, meh why bother he actually has about everything. he is a person of good character for the squad and he might very ell be recognized as having a significant role in turning the 04 team around to do something great in 05. you can base it off of a lot of things but after some of the things i saw ginn do last year and seeing how the team responded to it i cant really say otherwise.

WTF? Ted Ginn is an unbelievable athlete, probably the best in all of college football, and he is a true class act, but are you kidding? Did you ever see MoC play? He isn't that fast, but please post a video clip of him being caught from behind in a game. You're entitled to your opinion, but you should have something to back it up....MoC has no talent....how old are you?
How did the Miami game show that he was stoppable? He scored the winning touchdown!!!!! He made the biggest play of the game!!!!!
Seriously, how old are you?

yes i saw him play. did you hear the hype of magahee/clarett before that game? i really didnt see either of them live up to that hype. i cant deny that he made a great play stripping the ball. clarett was large ans strong but he definitely wasnt what i would call a dashingly quick back. he was no eddie george. clarett had oe skill that was higher than the average higher class athlete and that was the ability to have great vision. he sensed where the hole was and got through and knew where to go and how to react. im not impressed by him scoring the winning touchdown either considering he wasnt even a large factor in that drive. where areas clarett had a great team and beat his opponents ted ginn had dominated his in a half the time and with a less talented team to be honest in the midst of rapid changes.

Again, WTF? You seem to be mistaking straight line speed with athletic ability. I can run faster than MoC, but I'm not a better athlete than him. Great vision is what makes a great back. Lydell ross is a very good athlete, how many yards did he have last year?
You should be banned from uttering the name of Eddie George ever again.
You should also take a look at the Miami game again, you seem to have forgotten the plays MoC and McGahee made. Also, McGahee was starting to find some running room before he left prematurely...and once again- MoC scored the winning touchdown and made the biggest play of the game. He's not what you would call a dashingly quick back, but he was fast enough to catch Sean Taylor and take the ball from him, how fast do you want him to be? Also, Eddie wasn't a dashingly quick back, you must be thinking of Robert Smith.

I thought about it on your last post, but decided I'd give you another chance....have some red ones.
