It's hard as heck to listen to, and only on two stations in Ohio, but the Big Ten Network's daily radio show #BTNLive isn't that bad (informative).

I think it's better than what OSU's flagship station -- WBNS-FM/AM -- has to offer daily, in terms of the local shows. But that's not really saying much...

...since I remember when 1460-AM had decent shows/hosts.

BTN currently running a marathon of "The Journey: Big Ten Football 2012". I've never really watched this series, and I know that I'm jumping on the bandwagon two years late, but it is just a great series. I'm really looking forward to the basketball version of this show this winter.

The basketball series has been phenomenal. The football one has been decent to solid for the most part (part of the problem is the season they're covering).

I don't think they're going to outright fire him immediately, but I do think BTN will ask Chris Martin to choose one and stop doing the other.

He's not a very good analyst, but also don't know who BTN would replace him with. I'd kind of like an intelligent view on things rather than just a former athlete like Randel El or Jon Jansen.

But also not someone who's loaded with BS like Todd McShay or Joe Schad.

I wouldn't mind hearing more from Glen Mason.

I wouldn't mind more of Glen Mason as well. Quite honestly, Jerry Rudzinski isn't that bad (I'd consider him better than Chris Martin).

Just judging on who BTN puts on other shows, in addition to games, I'm thinking it will be Jon Jansen who replaces Chris Martin as an in-studio person.

If Chris Martin didn't disclose he was an agent when initially hired, he may get fired immediately. That's a biggie to not disclose, considering the network.

From a basketball standpoint, Scoonie Penn isn't doing that bad this season (for his first season at BTN).

Generally speaking, I prefer ex-coaches as analysts over ex-players.

Dick Vermeil is still the best analyst I've ever heard.

Hire Troy Smith!

Mason would be well served to drop the Dickie V impersonation. Whatever he has to say that is credible or spot on is lost in his delivery. I don't for a second believe that he's like that in real life. If I'm wrong about that, it's just one more reason I am glad they didn't give him the job a decade ago.

Generally, so do I, except Jon Gruden.
I mean, the guy knows the game, but listening to him is fucking exhausting.

Ok, admitting that this is another larger than life personality which I just bitched about above... but I love listening to Jon. Most insightful presentation of constructive criticism I've ever seen. Love him.

Each their own I guess and that just goes to suggest that there even could be a place for Mark... Neverind... The beers are getting to me.

Gruden seems to have something positive to say about everybody. What's wrong with that? I like him.

This. When he is critical of someone it still seems like it's constructive. Hardly ever a bash... always presents the negative with a positive and leaves it with something on which someone could improve. From a coaching perspective, you'd want to play for this guy any day.

Edit: ugg. From a players perspective... From a coaching perspective, he's doing a lot of the right things.

If I were a football player, no doubt I'd love to play for Gruden. And there's nothing wrong at all with a positive spin; I'm sick to death of negativism.

But could someone just get him to do some of this?
