Worst is he's at one of the most apathetic football programs ever. I mean, it's just a spiral of bad ever since hiring Danny Hope. I want Hazell to be the guy that claws them out of it, but he's in such a big hole.

Purdue had the opportunity to take a risk and hire a green, unproven Purdue alum as their coach when Tiller retired after 2008. They opted for "security" and "program stability" instead by hiring in-house with Danny Hope.

That unproven alum is the coach at Texas A&M now.
