The Ohio State athletic department made 14.1 Trillion dollars last year. That is more than the net worth of Australia.
Yes I realize they can afford anything, including the disillusionment of ticket buying fans beyond the luxury booths. They're doing quite well in that regard. You used to have to travel to away games if you wished to hear TBDBITL play during the televised portion of the game . Now you'll have to fly to hear them play.
The Game
Nebraska vs Oklahoma
Notre Dame vs PSU
...would be a great finale and just as possible if ND is in the west where they belong.

Every time someone splits up the east, they're almost always cancelling many of the best B1G games, which naturally involve OSU. You'd be cancelling the epic OSU-MSU and OSU-PSU series (and making OSU-UM awkward) all based on some guess about conference balance (other splits leave OSU & PSU alone in the east, cancelling MSU-PSU and UM-PSU which are solid TV). That kind of gamble suggested that powerhouse PSU wouldn't be Northwestern and Nebraska wouldn't be a freaking basketball school when they joined. Oklahoma should be good but we've heard that before, and frankly if they were in the B1G their rampant failures on the big stage would be held against them. There's also the question of how well they will recruit when their texas kids are no longer playing games nearby (assuming Kansas isn't brought in).

For me it wasn't about conference balance, it was about what is potentially good for the conference as a whole for the long term (albeit arguably bad for Ohio State). Getting away from PSU was a feature, not a bug. There is plenty of potential epicness in yearly tilts with Nebraska & Oklahoma.

The Game definitely would be a potential casualty, and I hate the idea of a rematch.

A final weekend of ....
The Game
Nebraska vs Oklahoma
Notre Dame vs PSU

....would blow everyone else out of the water in ratings.

Screw Sparty - put them in the West and have them close the season with ND. They have a much bigger and better rivalry with each other than either of them has with Pedo State.

I understand protecting rivalry games and all... but, in my mind, it's getting to the point that if those fuckers want to play us every year, let them find a way to the B1G championships... Fuck *ichigan.

Texas stares on in stunned silence.

If you're implying that we should let The Game be split up just because we've been kicking scum's ass for a decade and half, turn in your fan card. By the way, we've made it to the CCG twice in the four years we've been eligible (twice in its five-year history), so to state they'd need to make it to the CCG every year to continue their annual rivalry with us should we be put into separate divisions is just plain stupid. On the flip side, both MSU and Wisconsin have made it three times...

Read what I wrote with a grain of salt... You've been around long enough to recognize a tongue in cheek barb... especially aimed at those fuckers. To read everything here in a literal sense is, in your own words, just plain stupid.
