Devendorf hit a 55-footer at the buzzer of halftime to put Syracuse up 36-29. It was on time, but it shouldn't have counted because the guy taking the ball out of bounds after WV's bucket never touched the ground before throwing the in-bounds pass. That happens fairly often, and is almost never called.

Cuse up 2 with 13 seconds left. WV ball, Cuse has 1 foul to give. They gave it with 10 seconds left.

Ebanks shooting 2 FT with 4.8 left to try to tie the game.

Swishes the first, Syracuse calls the game's last timeout before the second.

Winning the BE tourney means something, obviously, but I wonder if - next week - Syracuse might've been better off losing tonight?

I recall the McNamara team winning 4 games in 4 days to get the automatic bid, then losing in the opening round of the NCAAs to Vermont.

Time will tell. We'll see if the Orange has anything left for the Ville tomorrow night.
