Hating the environment since 1994
    • Anyone else been infected by this annoying malware/virus?

    It got me this evening and I have no idea how.

    I had to spend $22 to download PC Doctor to clean it off.

    I had that on another laptop. Worst malware ever.

    It would shut down the start up process and installation of software that would remove it. I forget I got it off. Did it for free though.

    I got it a couple of years ago, and was able to do some checking on a separate laptop. I was able to get rid of it for free, but it was a pretty involved process.

    I just recently took heed of Mucks suggestion in the "Your computer, you should have total control over it." thread, and stopped doing my day to day stuff with an admin account. I still get a ton of tracking cookies and stuff, but haven't had any problems with toolbars or any other garbage being auto-installed on my system.
