Betty Buckeye Doll

I have a doll that is about 3 to 4 inches in height. She's wearing a dress with a sash that says "Ohio State Buckeyes" and a small hard hat that has the infamous Ohio State "O" on it. It's still in the original box that has the stadium pictured on it. But I cannot find any information on the little gal at all. Can anyone help?

I'm sure someone might be able to find out about her from the OSU library or something?

I'm trying to find out the story behind Betty Buckeye and how old the doll might be. I've talked to older folks that went to Ohio State in their day and they'd never heard of her, either. From the people I've shown it to, they've all said she looks as though she was made in the 1960's era.

Any information will be of help.

A male doll, though. Interesting.

Oh, yea. My doll isn't nearly that old. I doubt mine will ever last 50 years. It's only a few years old and is almost worn out already.

This doll is still in her original box. The plastic part of the box has been bent up a bit, but you can still see her plain as day. I wish I had a better computer so I could post her up on here. She's quite a treasure, and a mysterious one at that. Seems like no one knows anything about her at all.
