what is the best and worst job youve ever had.

best

growing up i worked for a friends dad construciton company, i got pretty decent operating, so in college he subbed me out after my frosh year. led eventually to me traveling all over between my soph and jr year in college working on construction sites all over the country. they pay wasnt any better, but i got money for a hotel, and a food (beer) stipen.

worst

spent three days in a sewage tank with a skidloader removing "debris" or could be one of the two big storms ive plowed through while i was in college.

best -

worked summers for friends of the family that had a sporting clays range - as a trap puller, got to shoot for free all summer and basically just hiked in the woods all day, it was a blast

worst -

retail computer sales/repairs - i respect the hell out of people that can do this, the public is stupid as a whole.

Tell me about it. Back when I worked customer support at Dell, I got this guy who had some issue with Dual Monitor Support for the Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600 Video Card. I basically did everything possible to show this guy the support page that answers all his questions.

I suppose I could've expensed a plane trip out there to guide the mouse in his hand onto the link, but maybe even that wouldn't be enough. Poor sap couldn't even figure out what kind of computer he had.

Patrick (my Dell buddy) and I got a laugh out of that one.

Worst-2nd shift at a printing plant, for about 2 weeks during the summer in college-boring, monotonous stacking, co-workers were dumber than rocks, I quit quickly

Best-I love my job teaching, but in terms of pure fun, working at the Oxley-Thompson Library mailroom my senior year at tOSU-my boss was an ex-gang member from Chicago-great guy, I read parts of lots of interesting books while I was supposed to be bagging them for shipment around the state, and my friends and I got first dibs on the Playboy and Hustler subscriptions that the library has-nothing like getting a memo from the rare books dept. demanding that the Hustler be delivered a week overdue.....Nudie Magazine Day-just like Billy Madison...

Worst - Painting the inside of a greenhouse in the summer!

Best - Besides my current position, the summer I worked at Cedar Point was unbelievable. Hardly any sleep, too much drinking and partying, too many women (after the first day I realized I needed a pen with me at work to take notes on the slips of paper that the female guests would slip me with their name and room number on it; averaged about 10 per day), made commercials, basically enough experiences in a short time to write a book and get money from the folks who run Cedar Point to not have it published.

Worst: Working 3rd shift at a plastics plant in Huber-tucky, OH (that would be Huber Heights) making the knobs for AC and radio controls for GM vehicles. Awful...

Best: Tie-
1) Current job where I'm underworked and way overpaid as an insurance underwriter.
2) Tibor's henchman/set-up man

You and me both...top end of my niche in state and local taxation. Recruiters call...never offer me enough money to even think about jumping. Although for other reasons, this is prolly my best job yet.

Worst job: got hired by this feminazi from hell who gives me the job, then informs me two weeks later that she hates men. She then proceeded to make the next three years of my life and that of the entire staff a living hell. I interviewed my ass off trying to get away from that bitch. She finally took another job, then...THEN a company I'd interviewed with a year earlier called me up. Worst of all...she's a fellow Buckeye. I think of her as a Michigan fan though. It's the only way I can get closure.
