So if the poll were for the most likely "loss" instead of "upset" how many would change their votes? The change of language gives a different feel to the question. . .
Let's face it. Going up "there" to play a game is never easy. I will consider that the game of the year. Here's to being undefeated going into that game.

easily penn state. san diego state would be my pick if this were any other team. but tressel won't let the guys over celebrate texas or look ahead to iowa. but a road trip to happy valley after a bye week? oooph! thats anything but a gimme. i don't care how bad penn state is, we never play well there. this game has all the "clear sailings" feel that 98 msu had.

I'm surprised that there aren't more votes for the Hawkeyes on this thread. They absolutely manhandled us last year (for the first time in a long time), they had a great Bowl win, return a lot of studs, have one of the best coaches in the country, and a pretty good QB.

All those ingriedients make an upset recipe, if I've ever seen one.

I chose Minnesota because of boredom. I don't think that a loss to scUM, Iowa, or Texas would be an upset, just a major disappointment. Penn State is scary, but despite how close they've been, Tressel's still 3-1 against them. Minnesota bothers me due to the possibility of an away game stuck in the middle of a six game stretch of weak to mediocre teams between Iowa and scUM. This may cause some complacency, and that's dangerous. It's also the week before we resume the IlliBuck, after a two year layoff. I'm not saying that the guys will be looking past Minny for Illinois, but it is still kind of a rivalry, and you mix that with an above average opponent the week before, and you might have a problem. Another factor is that Glen Mason is probably still smarting a bit from getting passed over for some no name Division 1AA coach. The simple fact that it was the right hire, probably doesn't make Mason feel any better. Alot of things going on here that make me a little leary about this game.

It would be a lot different for my pick if the question was which game is tOSU most likely to lose.

Even though tOSU should be favored in every game but the final one this year, I wouldn't see the Texas game being an upset. Iowa would depend on things. If Ohio State beats Texas, than a loss to Iowa would be an upset in my eyes. If you ask me which game they are most likely to lose, i'd say Texas, just because it's early. But honestly I don't think they lose this game.

The toughest game will be @scUM, as always. A loss there would be as hard as ever to swallow, but still not considered an upset.

Iowa and Texas are the next 2 best teams we play, but I don't think they will be the next 2 toughest games to win, because they are at home and early enough that we should be healthy.

Road game at night, after a bye week, = Trouble. however, with this senior class leadership, I would think they keep the young guys focused enough to get by PSU and Minny (our guys in a dome on turf? - foggetaboutit), but that PSU game scares the heck out of me.

It's amazing how scared everyone is of this Penn State game. I agree it's definitely the trap game of the year...but something nobody has mentioned that has come to mind might keep it from being that dangerous.

Penn State has a cake schedule before they play tOSU. They could easily be 5-0 going into the game and ranked. This game might end up looking at lot bigger than it is (i.e. #3 Ohio State @ #18 Penn State). I'd rather see a 5-0 Penn State, because they won't be as good as their record and won't be battle tested, but being 5-0, and ranked, it will be easy for tOSU go get up for the game...and face it, Penn State only plays one team that's even CLOSE to being a top 50 team, and that's Minnesota, there rest of their schedule are some of the worst teams in D1A. We'll have played Texas and Iowa. We may be 4-0, and actually better than our record (if that's possible). Could be a great chance for tOSU to win a game against a top 25 team, that really shouldn't be there. That just helps get votes.

Iowa is the only game i'm scared of, after last season i'm not sure it would be an 'upset' but anytime ohio state loses to anyone (aside from maybe USC) I consider it an upset. The rest of the games, perhaps i'm over-confident but I just can't see the Buckeyes getting beat if they stay healthy.

I picked Miami because that would trully be an upset to lose at home. Three of our games (Texas, Iowa and Michigan) are against top ten teams. Unless we are the #1 team, I don't think you can call the number three team losing to the number 5 or 6 team an upset. The Penn State game is on the road in the Big Ten where anything can happen.

Has anyone thought about Illinois? the Illini hate us, The Battle for Illibuck is a rivlary more to them than to us, but still a rivalry. Actually in all honesty the only way we lose any game this year is due to coaching getting to be too conservative late in a game or underestimating a team. It is Coach Tressels to lose and I really doubt he'll drop the ball. He is too smart.

I have to go with TSUN. Not because I think Tressel or the team won't be up for the game or because I think TSUN is the better team. Just because. If you look at the history there is nothing that can explain this game. Just because.

Having said that, I think we will win, but I see both teams enter The Game as undefeated top 5 teams and look for a game that would make Woody proud.

Earlier in the thread, I picked PSU, but I have reconsidered. I think PSU will be a tough game and they will be looking for us to have a letdown. However, I think the bye week will give everyone a chance to get over bangs and nicks, so I think the final run into TSUN is the biggest chance. Again, I still think we will run the table this year.

My best chance to get upset was about 2 months ago when i went home and caught my gf with another guy, then the fucking jody has the nerve to tell me i should leave...

quote of the day was "you had better shut the fuck up and sit your ass down before i come over there and beat the fuck out of you!"

never seen a grown man shut the fuck up so fast and try to hide behind a girl... i think his dick shrunk 3 sizes that day...

or wait... I think i misunderstood this thread :tic:
