Best Bowling Scores and Stories

Is that good?
Well, its not qualifying time for the districts. But its good for a City League kid. But it was good for me. I was seeded with a time of 1:59. Which I have no idea where my coach got that time. Since I never swam the 100 Free before.

I placed 41 out of 45 swimmers in the 100. But they were all under 1:30. Which is pretty good. I got beat in my heat by this kid from Delaware by 0.74 of a second.

I was 2 lengths behind him on the final 25 yards. And I caught up to him. One more yard longer and I would have beat him.

Here is the full results. The kid that won it, had a time of 49 seconds. Half of a second from the meet record.

Back when I was in 5th grade. My elementary school had a bowling league. I had a 105 average going into the last week. I ended up bowling a 143 the first game and then a 175 the second game.

.

It doesn't count when they have those bumpers in for your teddy.

although maybe your coach should put some around the pool so you don't hit your head anymore.

Bowled a lot when I was growing up and after joining the military. The highest score I ever had was a 279 and I got that twice. Both times a fucking solid 10 pin bit me in the ass and both times it was in the 5th frame.

perfect game

A finally got my ring on 3/31/99 with a 300 in the first game and hit all 3 in the tenth on the Brooklyn. I guess it was time with a few 299's and 298's in the books. I gave up the sport shortly after due to work and other things to do.

Not my highest game, but I once followed 7 strikes in a row with......a gutterball! No choking there!
It was a church league too, so I didn't yell F***! and I didn't have some old geezer try any gamesmanship on me either. (obviously didn't need to)

Bump.

Well, my friends and I have been bowling a lot this summer; and before the summer started, I probably bowled once every two months, and rolled an average of 90. Now, I've been bowling quite a bit, and I probably average about 125 a game, with like 10-20 games a week. I normally start off with a score around 100, and work myself up. My high is 160, and I'm getting to the point where I can roll a little less than, pretty consistently.

Speaking of good bowling stories, my friend broke a finger on his right hand, and he is right-handed. He has been bowling with his left hand, and is not ambidextrous. Ironically, his scores seem to be the same, if not better than what he rolled with his right hand. I think that's pretty cool.

When I moved to Cincy in 1999 I joined my buddy's team which played at Eastgate Lanes in Goshen, OH. The facility was absolute garbage (Buckeyefool can probably support this as well) and most league members were absolute filth. Anyway, we weren't very good, but b/c of my huge handicap (I'm a terrible bowler), we were able to finish in the top 10 which earned us a payout. When we showed up to collect our prize money the dude in charge said, "Well, you guys were bumped up one place in the final standings b/c the team ahead of you had a player who had to be disqualified." It turned out that the player (a long haired freaky dude named Wayne who actually got in a fistfight with two of his teammates one week b/c they had high fived him too hard and bent his fingers back) in question had to go to prison and wasn't able to find a sub, so his team was penalized. Needless to say, we didn't return the next year...
