Best Albums of 2009 (so far)

The new Dream Theater is a little bit weaker than I originally thought after a few listens...

BUT, to add to this topic, the new Killswitch Engage is pretty badass.

And, the new Riverside is really, really amazing. No one's ever heard of Riverside, but they're where it's at.

-1. I like Systematic Chaos a lot better than this one.
I'm more into progressive than I am into metal, and so for me the latest is closer to the ideal. Still not as excellent as Images and Words, Awake, or A Change of Seasons, but each work since the dreadful Train of Thought has shown improvement.

Definitely my LEAST favorite album also. If you're into the progressive side, definitely check out Riverside. Do you know about OSI? Their new album this year is REALLY good too, I'd put it on my list.

Akron's own "The Black Keys" new album is pretty good.

Myspace

No to be picky but that came out in '08...but yes it is a decent album.

Some albums from '09 I like so far:

Silversun Pickups - Swoon
Rick Ross - Deeper than Rap (and I'm not even really into rap all that much)
John Frusciante - The Empyrean
The Mars Volta - Octahedron
The Dead Weather - Horehound
Coheed and Cambria - Neverender
CKY - Carver City
Bon Iver - Blood Bank EP
Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 - White Lies for Dark Times
...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead - The Century of Self
Mos Def - The Ecstatic
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz
