Best 2010 Recruiting Classes by Position

Here is my totally uninformed take on what schools signed the best classes in the nation position by position

QB- Auburn This might sound a little crazy, but Auburn signed Cameron Newton (former bigtime Gator recruit, stole a laptop) from JUCO, and he will be the biggest immediate impact QB in the class. He will probably start next year for the Tigers.
Others-Alabama-Philip Sims-shorter Byron Leftwich from HS film, Oklahoma-Blake Bell-very highly touted QB from Wichita, Stanford -Dallas Lloyd and Brett Nottingham might be the best combo of QBs signed

RB- UCLA Jordon James and Malcolm Jones are the two best backs in California
Others-Miami Storm Johnson and Eduardo Clements are an excellent duo, The Ohio State University- Roderick Smith and Carlos Hyde are as good a duo as any school signed. Smith will be special here,IMO. Oregon Lache Seastrunk and Dontae Williams are the two best backs in Texas, and are perfect fits for Oregon's offense-they might need them w/ LaMychal James' idiocy....

WR- Texas Signed the 5 WRs they wanted instate, plus DeMarco Cobbs, an athlete who will play wherever he wants on offense. Mike Davis and Darius White are both rated in the top 5 nationally
Others-USC Kyle Prater, Robert Woods, and Markeith Ambles might be the best trio signed by any school. Xavier Grimble is the #1 TE in the country Tennessee Da'Rick(love the name)Rogers and Justin Hunter might be the best duo signed by any school, Matt Milton is a highly touted Prater/Burress/Ty Williams type WR

OL- Texas A&M The Aggies signed the 2 best OL in Texas in Luke Joeckl and Jake Matthews, plus some other very solid OL. No school had an eye popping haul this year
Others Auburn the Tigers signed Eric Mack, one of the best pure Gs in the nation out of South Carolina, plus several other top prospects in the South and a couple of highly touted JUCOs.

DL Florida Any other year Texas wins in a landslide, but Sharrif Floyd and Ronald Powell seem to be better athletes on film than the Texas haul. Dominique Easley and Leon Orr are athletic studs too. I think Gerald Christian will be a DE for the Gators when all is said and done as well, even though he is listed as a highly touted TE.
Others Texas The Horns signed Jackson Jeffcoat, and every other stud DL out of Texas they wanted. Taylor Bible and Reggie Wilson are bigtimers as well.

LB Florida State You could throw Lady Gaga in w/ Jeff Luc and have a hell of a LB class w/ just those two, but the Noles also signed Christian Jones, Telvin Smith, and Nigel Terrell, 3 of the top 10 OLBs in the country
Others Oklahoma Tony Woods and Corey Nelson are both undersized, but are considered to be 2 of the best OLB prospects in the country, several other sleepers Texas Jordan Hicks, and 2 other LBs from Texas in his run/cover mode and size

DB Alabama The Tide signed perhaps the 2 best pure cover CBs in the country in DeMarcus Milliner and John Fulton, plus an immediate JUCO stud in Dequan Menzies, and the usual collection of in-state talent at S
Others Florida Jonathan Dowling is the #1 rated S in the country, and the Gators signed a ton of other quality DBs including Matt Elam, Josh Shaw-will probably be a S at Flroida and Cory Riggs. Texas The Horns signed their usual collection of stud Texas DBs, including Carrington Byndom-a top CB nationally and winner of the "Name Most Likely to be Shared w/ a Soap Opera Charcter" award for this years class.

The only other area I could see OSU being in the discussion would be at WR but they aren't probably because they only brought in three true receivers...but I don't think people realize how good Louis is and add to that a monster body in Tyron Williiams and a speed demon in Corey Brown and you have a very talented trio entering OSU next season. Roby and Bryant could both be WRs but both will likely get their start on defense. The gaping hole is at TE...but hopefully OSU fixes that with Vannett and Koyack in the '11 class.
