Bengals-Ravens on the NFL Network....

So yeah, the Bengals game is this Thursday, and will only be shown on the NFL Network... I've been hearing that Cincy and Dayton had to put bids in on who could show the game and Dayton beat out Cincy... LUCKY FOR ME!!! But I'm still quite outraged at the fact that the NFL Network is showing live games... Not everyone has the Network.

I sense a sports bar in my future this Thursday night.

that is the point. The NFL is hoping by doing things like this that everyone will have the chance to get it by pressuring the cable companies. These ESPN/NFL Network battles with the cable companies have got to stop.

I'd have to agree with the battles! It's obvious NFL Network is struggling to get viewers... I still think it's stupid to do this, they should at least be showing the game in the state of Maryland and Ohio on a local station... According to another person the bidding winner went to a Cincinnati station, so they will in fact be seeing it in the Cincy area, but the others are all left out in the cold... Still, all very stupid.

I wouldn't say they are struggling to get viewers, they are struggling to get cable companies to offer it because of the fee. Exact same crap ESPN is doing with ESPNU.

Does anyone know definitively whether a Dayton station or a Cincinnati station will be carrying the game? I can go to the game for free as part of the distribution staff, but I'd likely have crappy seats. My friends and I would rather just watch it on TV somewhere if that's going to be feasible, but if only a Dayton station is carrying it I need to sign up to work the game.

Yes, WLWT (channel 5) in Cincinnati won the bidding for rights to show the game.
