Bengals at Browns(-6.5)

This team fucking stinks.

The Bengals????? If you can't beat the fucking Bengals then you need to blow up whatever you're doing and start the fuck over.

I know it's game one, but these are two teams that were supposedly headed in opposite directions. The Browns looked completely unprepared.

The Ravens are going to beat this team by 30.

God damn, I was excited about this season too. Shit.

Blow this up? Are you fucking serious? Games like this occur when you're already doing a complete rebuild, which is what the Browns are already doing.

That is, of course, unless you're saying it's time to fire Holmgren and hire fucking Doug McLean or something :roll1:

Opposite directions? You obviously don't know a lot about the Bengals. They got rid of all the players that we're keeping them from progressing to be a competitive team. If anything, they're rebuilding and doing a good job doing it with the players that are replacing the old ones.

Agreed.

To add to this point a little, many of the pundits were saying that because the Browns had just blown it up again and were introducing so many new elements, they were one of the teams that was going to be hurt most by the lockout. In the preseason they were trying to install a new offense and a new defense while most of the rest of the league was simply trying to shake off the rust.

The good news is that some of the problems we saw (penalties, getting scored on while still in the huddle) are fixable. The bad news as we all know is that with the Browns, if something ever gets fixed, three new embarrassing problems show up in its place.

Speaking of giving up points while still in the huddle, you gotta give the Browns credit for that one. We only think they've run out of new ways to lose because their loser creativity is on an entirely different plane than the rest of humankind. Seriously though, a play like that makes it clear that the defense lacks leadership. Does anyone think a defense with Ray Lewis in it would get caught with their pants down like that? He would never allow that in the first place, and if they tried he'd fucking stab everybody. For as much as it appeared to bother Joe Haden after the fact, I hope he steps into that role (the leadership, not the stabbing) and takes charge. This organization needs it.
