I wish they would release the 2009 remastered mono CDs individually like they did the stereo CDs. The left/right panning on their earlier albums is ridiculous in stereo. Although, for some reason, Help! sounds fine in stereo. But Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, etc. sound best in mono.

The Song Remains the Same

Nothing too crazy. :p It is original though, but not sealed. I'm just happy to say I have an original Zeppelin vinyl. I don't know how abundant they are. I'd imagine somewhat at worst.

Went out and bought Revolver and Rubber Soul last night. I've only had a chance to listen to the former so far, but it sounds outstanding. I can really hear McCartney's bass like I never have before. I know some people are saying that this album suffers from being stereo rather than mono, but as somebody who has only ever listened to it in stereo, I think it's the best form I've ever heard it in.

The percussive elements of each instrument really come through. As somebody who was once a musician and played some of just about every rhythm section instrument at one time or another, I can hear and feel things like a finger plucking a bass string (rather than only the resulting low-pitched tone) or the sound or a tambourine being struck (rather than just rattling).

People on Amazon are up in arms. Apparently a lot of the pressings are bad, and the box came badly damaged/crushed. But it's good to hear they sound fine. Like I've said before, I don't think the stereo/mono difference is as noticeable on speakers as it is on headphones.

Well, yeah. I don't know why people would buy LPs from Amazon. Go out and support your local independent record store.

My experience was the opposite. A lot of new, sealed records I've bought come with manufacturing debris inside the package (dust, paper shavings, etc.) that has to be blown out of the sleeve and cleaned off the record. The two I bought were immaculate though. They even sprung for the Mylar-lined paper sleeves, which I wish more labels would do.
