Pretty good analysis. It is imperative that the Packers run the ball and run it well. Otherwise teams are just going to do what the Giants and 49ers did: drop the safeties back. Jermichael Finley is also going to need to have a big game.GeorgiaBuck2;2212781; said:Aaron Rogers is not his MVP self. He sucked in the preseason and he sucked against the 49ers. The Packers defense can't stop the run, and judging by last year, they can't stop the pass. I'm no Bears fan, but they have improved their offensive weaponry, and their defense has always been good. Matt Forte will run up and down the Packer defense, and Jay Cutler is no Alex Smith. However, if their offensive line can't hold up against the Packers pass rush, then that will be the Bears downfall. But overall, I think the Bears pull it out.

The problems with green bay is no running game, jennings is banged up, finley is inconsistent catching passses and the defense once again is unreliable.

GeorgiaBuck2;2212889; said:Don't need to run the ball to win games in this league... You need to execute a near flawless passing game, which Rodgers did last year and when he got hot in the playoffs in 2010. While he went over 300 yards, he had to throw it 44 times to get there. That's less than 7 yards per attempt, which is not good. He also looked quite rattled in the pocket and made some errors that we didn't see too often last year. While I shouldn't have said he sucked, he certainly looked a bit sub-par.
However, it is true that his receivers don't look nearly as reliable as years past. What was with all the drops? I was surprised because usually they catch everything that's thrown their way. They certainly need to get that fixed if they want to fair well against a turnover savvy defense.

James Jones is a solid receiver, but It will be more interesting to see what the Packers do with Randall Cobb. Either way, like mentioned above, they need to establish some sort of running game. They can't afford to be one dimensional & let Rodgers get pressured consistently like he was last week.
All that being said, I'd have to go with the Packers tonight at home. San Fran make them look quite pedestrian last week, but they are a pretty darn good team & make almost every team look that way. Chicago hasn't won at Lambeau since 2007 & have only beat Green Bay once in the last seven games.
brodybuck21;2213010; said:exactly! if jennings plays the packers should win but if he doesn't all bets are off. Defense needs to make big plays tonight. Cutler will throw some up for grabs (sounds like an old packers qb) so our db's need to catch them. dline and lb's (matthews!) need to pressure the qb but maintain discipline so that forte doesnt go off for 150.
