Beanie makes the case for OSU despite VT loss (Video)

An undeniably (and understandably) homeristic point of view, but it is too early for me to jump on board with him. In fact, I won't be able to jump all the way on board until about midnight on November 8th, and that's only if we win of course. For me, it is all about "seeing is believing" with our defense. And no overlooking Sparty.

With all of that said, I sure hope Beanie's right.

I posted this in the "The B1G is irrelevant...again" thread but I see it as more likely than not that a one-loss B1G will get in if we have one (and I think we will due to remaining schedules). After the chaos so early last week and the inevitable cannibalization of each conference, I think one will get in. To be extra sure, we would just need to beat MSU (no small task but we need not blow them out to take the next step) and then have a resounding win in the B1G Championship game, hopefully against an 11-1 Nebraska team. And of course, we cannot overlook any opponent because really we need to have convincing wins every week to inch back into the conversation come November.

The only reason I even speculate here is because after Week 2, I thought there was no way either team could get in but it seems like a lot of conferences might want to help us.

In 16 years of the BCS, I believe that there was only 1 year (2004) when there were 3 or more teams from BCS conferences that were undefeated. Did people believe that 4 teams were going to be undefeated and fit into a playoff system like a round peg in a round hole? 1-loss teams will get in. The question for the committee will be "which 1-loss team(s) get left out?" We (fans of Big Ten teams) need to hope that there are as few 1-loss and undefeated teams as possible so that there are better chances of one of our teams getting in. And... absolutely enough of the pegs will fall over. We just need to hope that one of our teams (hopefully Ohio State) still only has 1 loss.

True, I just think it is looking like many of the contenders will have two losses...at the end of the day, there may only be 4 legit teams that have only one loss. Heck, I could see a two loss team getting in at this rate but at that point you would hope a one loss B1G team would make it over any two loss team. As to other one loss teams, I doubt a B1G would leapfrog anyone unless maybe an ACC team and likely not even then really.
