The 2006 tOSU squad was the only team to ever win a pair of AP #1-#2 matchups and not win a national title.

2011 LSU will have wins over 3 of the final top-5 teams in the country,and will not win a title. If they had made it close, the AP might have made it interesting, but I can't see more than a handful of voters giving a #1 nod to a team that's been clearly outplayed tonight.
