Robert Griffin III says he is '100 percent' interested in Baylor coaching job

Robert Griffin III, Baylor's only Heisman Trophy winner, said Monday that he is interested in being the Bears' new football coach, even though the former quarterback has no coaching experience.

Long-embattled coach Dave Aranda was fired by Baylor on Sunday after he went 40-40 over 6½ seasons. Joe Klanderman was named interim coach for the remainder of this season.

Griffin, the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner, spoke about the Baylor opening during an interview Monday on "The Dan Patrick Show." He said he had talked with athletic director Doug McNamee.

"Yes, 100 percent," Griffin said when Patrick asked if he was interested in the job. "If Baylor wants to get back to winning and have a university that isn't just respectable on the football field, but the fans can be proud of, they need people who know what it looks like to win at Baylor. So yeah, I would 100 percent be interested."
