Battlestar Galactica: Razor

Taosman

Your Cousin In New Mexxico
It looks freaking awesome.

Some tidbits.

Being described as 300 in space.

We find out that Cain is playing for the other team. (and not the Cylons) (not that there is anything wrong with that!)

They are showing flashback episodes(2 minutes each) about a young Adama that lead to Razor. Every Friday night during that piece of crap that is Flash Gordon.

If anyone is interested this is out to download. Just watched it and loved it. I don't know about the 300 in space thing. Definitely pissed that there is only one more season of BSG. Big twist at the end that puts season 4 up in the air.

I caught part of it last night. It was cool to see the old style Cylon (sp) ships and the Cylons in them, including the gold ones. Gotta love it when they go old school. I did not care for when they had them walking in the ship. They needed to follow the whole original style.

Overall, cool show. I am assuming it was just a 2 hour movie event to fill the time before the series is back on in the spring.

is it just me or did it not seem to cover any new ground? it might just be me, i had to dvr it and didn't watch it till midnight so i might have missed some of the more subtle stuff. but it seemed to me that every major point they hit on in razor had been hinted to throughout the season. the only new ground was the continued existence and possible splinter group of the old school cylons. though it is already evident that there is dissension among the cylong ranks.

did i miss something or was this just a rehash with a little more insight as to the whys for the people who might have missed stuff throughout the series?

I don't think it was supposed to except for throwing some doubt on Starbuck's destiny at the end. It did a good job of filling in some gaps and was well worth the 1:30.

I thought the same thing (about it not covering new ground) but my wife made an interesting point.

The razor story was like bizzaro BSG from season 1 in the sense that Cain was faced with very similar decisions to Adama and made the opposite choice each time.

examples....

The cylons attack and destroy the colonies. Adama flees, Cain chooses to fight.

In a speech from each that ends in a big So Say We All fest, Adama talks of saving humanity and finding Earth. Cain talks of revenge even at the cost of what is left.

When people are withholding important supplies and a civillian gets shot, Adama negotiates. Cain takes.

When Adama finds a cylon in his midst he imprisons her, but eventually lets her back in the fleet, Cain sicks her cruelest interrogator on her.

etc...

Maybe I'm just fucked up, but I would love to see the Hostel-like depravity that was inflicted on Cain's girlfriend.
