I know how things roll on Buckeye Planet. I've been surfing it since late 2003/early 2004. Only joined in Feb 2005 because on signing day that year only members were allowed to log on and see which recruits committed. Didn't post much until recently.
There is a fraternity or brotherhood of long time veteran posters that seem to all stick together pretty good and that's fine. They seem, at times, hell bent on keeping this site as politically correct as possible (probably to keep this site different from a certain other Buckeye website). When someone here tries to challenge the status quo they react to it like a cat to water or fingernails down a blackboard.
I don't think I ever said that I didn't like Tony Pittman or that he can't get the job done. I just don't think it's quite as farfetched as some people seem to think that at some point this season Chris Wells could evolve into the better option. Goal line situations for instance. First and goal on the 5, 4th quarter two minutes left, Texas leads by 4 points. We need to punch it in to win and Texas has a very good defense. Who's gonna be the hero? Whoever Tressel chooses that's who. Pittman got the job done in a similar situation vs. Michigan. Chris Wells is tailor made for goal line situations. It'll be interesting to see how this season unfolds.
Physically Chris Wells as a freshman is alot different than Tony Pittman as a freshman. Tony Pittman looked good in limited duty as a freshman but didn't get in there as much as many people would have liked. His duty was limited by Tressel because his body wasn't physically ready for the pounding week in and week out.
How much more work does Chris Wells' body need in the weight room before he's ready for extended play? Damn. He's probably ready for that pretty much right now. He's a big strong fast guy. Bigger and stronger and just as fast as Pittman is right now. What is so farfetched about C. Wells getting alot more playing time as a freshman than Pittman did. There is nothing farfetched about it.
But shhhhhhh! We've got to be politically correct here on Buckeyeplanet. We can't say anything controversial such as some true freshman might be as good as some junior incumbent starter. What have I said that is so bad. Competition is good. Chris Wells is the best thing that could have happened to Pittman. Pittman will respond and work harder with a talent like that breathing down his neck.
There is plenty of room for both of these guys. I would really like to see Chris Wells get the same opportunities as a freshman that Adrian Peterson got but that ain't gonna happen. Remember though, we've only got Chris Wells for 3 season most likely. Do we really want to waste him on the sidelines for his freshman year because heaven forbid that we should happen to slight Tony Pittman. We've got to get this guy in the game as much as possible! The first time C. Wells puts some DB on his ass with a stiff arm I think alot of people will begin to see my point. It's just a matter of time.
It's the 4th of July.
who is this fraternity? I'm assuming you are talking about Mili & I, among others. I would guess that I have strongly disagreed with Mili at least a dozen times, if not a lot more, in the last month. There is a fraternity or brotherhood of long time veteran posters that seem to all stick together pretty good and that's fine. You claimed that Wells would be the best RB on Sept 2. Not at some point in the season, perhaps in goal line situations (which is feasible). Not that CWells will have a better freshman year than Pittman. I don't find the latter two to be far-fetched, but disagree with the first.I just don't think it's quite as farfetched as some people seem to think that at some point this season Chris Wells could evolve into the better option... (goalline).

tressel will start the best RB. If CWells can do everything well on sept 2, then I would expect we'll see a heavy dose of #28. Otherwise, I would imagine his carries will increase as he becomes more comfortable in all phases of the game.Remember though, we've only got Chris Wells for 3 season most likely. Do we really want to waste him on the sidelines for his freshman year because heaven forbid that we should happen to slight Tony Pittman.
I saw him play twice this spring, including the jersey scrimmage where he was equally impressive. CBF40 and I were absolutely blown away by his running ability, so I'm not sure what a stiff arm is going to do for me (he's already shown that). We've got to get this guy in the game as much as possible! The first time C. Wells puts some DB on his ass with a stiff arm I think alot of people will begin to see my point. It's just a matter of time.
Even you Mililani are a small time, starry eyed, on the outside looking in, dreamer of Buckeye glory that you never got to personally experience first hand.
Gee what a surprise, once again mili takes the subject off topic by throwing in a personal insult![]()
you're not even worth my time, child.spadukins said:Whatever!
Nobody is as smart and intelligent as you. Right BN27?
You are typically the one that breaks out the personal insults first.
You are a small man, obviously.
And talking to you still reminds me of talking to a child.
A one or two sentence posts is typically about all you can muster.
