Scott was convicted of involuntary manslaughter last month in the alcohol poisoning death of Goodpasture, 31, who had a blood alcohol content of .430 when she was found dead at her home in July 2004 after a night of drinking with her mother and sister.

"A lot of us are at fault, including myself," Goodpasture's mother, Bev Brown, told the court. "But he took a life and I think he should be punished for it."

I found this tidbit and thought more than just myself would find it interesting. The mother, who was out with her, blames herself but only thinks the bartender should be punished? Hmmmm, sounds like the bartender may have a suit to file of his own. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending the bartender but I am not going to crucify him either. Its like having to tell folks "caution hot coffee" on a lid at McDonald's. We all know the risks of drinking too much alcohol, yet no one believes that anything bad will happen to them.
