Bama encourages recruit to transfer High Schools

The school they're recommending has "block" scheduling.

Which means he can take 2 more courses per semester than at his old high school.

So if he's behind in core credits at his old school, he can make up some of those credits without needing summer school, or a whole other year.

This.

If it wasn't Alabama recommending him to do so, this isn't a story. Those extra courses he can fit in by going to another school at least gives him a chance to qualify academically.

You are right on. Any other school not from the [censored]ing waste of a state and this gets no second look. I would look cross-eyed if it were Auburn...hell even if it was UAB or Troy. That state needs to be given back to the Mexicans...or something like that.

[rant] It kills me that 'Bama fans will only troll other boards if they even go to them. Hell, LSU, UGA, and others from $EC stop by and make valid points and will debate without claiming 38 NC and screaming $EC $EC $EC for every post. Man! I hate that state. [/rant]

The mayor of Foley, Alabama was on radio defending the high school yesterday.
Said ever since his county switched to the block scheduling, they have received a ton of transfers.
This is the 1st one involving a known athlete, so it's getting some press

He's thankful for the press though. Says you can't buy advertising like this.

That alone would make ineligible under the proposed new NCAA academic guidelines.
