A woman going through security at Los Angeles International Airport put her month-old grandson into a plastic bin intended for carry-on items and slid it into an X-ray machine.

The early Saturday accident ? bizarre but not unprecedented ? caught airport workers by surprise, even though the security line was not busy at the time, officials said.

Wow,.... poor kid. Not defending the person who did this, but this is another prime example of letting goverment run anything!!! The security process is TERRIBLE. I could have my 6 year old son come up with something more effective and efficient. Plus having the extra 10 people just standing around wasting space is appaling. Man I was in a great mood this morning until I read about tipping the post-man and this thread :-).
