A part of getting the full benefit of committing to Georgia is convincing them that there are other suitors in serious contention - I’m fairly confident no one ups the ante as much as Ohio State being that other suitor.

Under this scenario, it is entirely possible that Lamb is hearing positive things about Ohio State while Birm and Ellis have heard the recruitment is not even active.

As I laid out in my scenario above, I think it’s likely that Lamb’s source is someone close to the recruit trying to spread the word that there are multiple surious contenders, and the Birm/Ellis source is someone on the OSU staff saying they aren’t even recruiting him.
