I have misplaced my pants.
I'm getting this pop-up each time I load a new page on Buckeye Planet. It wants me to sign in (user name and password). I tried my log-in information, but that doesn't do anything.

No other websites seem to want me to sign in.

Just PM me your username password combination, a valid e-mail address and your SSN or drivers license # and I'm sure it will be pretty easily squared away.

Just don't use your bank acccount in the next three days till the transfer is complete.

Doesn't sound like a BP issue, or we'd have tons of reports. I'm not sure what it would be, but logging out, clearing browser cache, and running a malware tool should cover all the bases. And maybe change your password, just in case.

Is it a windows pop-up? Or a browser?

Can you take a screenshot of it?

I honestly can't begin to imagine what might cause something like that, but Deety's right, were it something systemic here it would be doing it to everyone and not just some. It happens on every single page load for you? Are you using www.buckeyeplanet or just buckeyeplanet? Are you using http or https (I don't even think we currently support the latter, but thought I'd ask). If it's happening on some places but not others, where it is happening and where is it not.

Finally, if you have more than one browser and/or more than one computer, is it happening more than one place? For that matter, what browser are you using?

Very curious.

It was a pop-up window. It was happening at first on every Buckeye Planet page, and only in Buckeye Planet, and it would happen 3-4 times per load. I could cancel out of it, but it would pop up a couple more times. That's what led me to believe it was a Buckeye Planet issue. When Deety suggested that others would be mentioning it, I went and talked to IT. The guy said all kinds of computery words that I don't understand, and he got it so that the pop-up quit coming up.

He said that since I use firefox, that should circumvent whatever company "blocks" (my word, not his) that may be in place. But he said that he heard rumblings that they were going to include firefox, as well. He found some window, somewhere (probably in the preferences something-or-other), and he checked a blank box or unchecked a checked box and it's gone. I don't know for how long, though.

Thanks all.

Aha -- sounds like it might be difficult for you to see BP in the future.

That it was on your work network's side explains how isolated it seemed to be. While I'm glad it's not something on this end, I hope you won't be locked out entirely at some point from work.

It could also be that something we're loading (like an ad server) is what they're trying to block and not BP itself. Just really hard to say.

Someone with more IT knowledge/expertise than I have would have to address that.

Glad it's no longer happening!
