I'd normally agree with this, but the jerseys have changed pretty drastically. The jersey change has me feeling not as great about my offical clarett jersey steal. Picked up an offical new one for $18 last year. Figured someone good would take over number 13 and i'd be laughing to the bank... then they switched jerseys :(

No sweat. Hold on to it for 20 years or so, then Nike will decide to go for the 'retro' look...you'll be stylin, while half of us on the message boards will be discussing how 'ugly' the 'new' jerseys are, and the other half are waiting for them to hit the stores so we can buy them at about $375 (2026 price) a pop. :wink2: :biggrin:

OK, let's bump up the level of difficulty here. I want find a jersey from the 68 - 69 era. There the ones with the traditional gray stripes on the sleeves and black TV numbers on the shoulders. I've seen a few out there, so I know they exsist, but I've Googled the hell out of this and gotten nowhere. Anybody got a clue?

Was as the Purdue game last year and saw a guy who had a throwback Cassady jersey. Anyone ever come across one of those? The jersey was sooooo sweet.

I have been interested in an item that is for sale online:

CHRIS "BEANIE" WELLS #28 OHIO STATE FOOTBALL JERSEY - eBay (item 230208399121 end time Sep-25-08 20:30:25 PDT)

The price is about $40 (plust $6 for shipping). I asked the seller what was the difference between this jersey and the one that is sold through OSU apparel places, and this was the response:

OSU jerseys are a NIKE exclussive now which translates into higher retails. our jerseys are made by atlantis & colusseum at the end of last year before they had to quit selling them.

Do any of you know if the "atlantis & colosseum" product is of lesser quality than the Nike one? I can't afford to spend too much money on a Wells jersey, but I definitely am looking for quality instead of expense in this situation (aside from the $150 jobbers that I've seen).

I appreciate any and all thoughts that you might have on this.

I have one of those Colosseum jerseys (Hartline) and they're decent quality but not sure worth $46. I got mine at Schottensteins about 6 months ago for $10 and have seen them at whatever the store is called now for $30 or less. Not sure on what #'s they have had available. The front and back numbers are silk screened and are holding up well, but the shoulder numbers and stripes are not and are just starting to fade slightly, I wear and wash mine about weekly.

These Nike ones seem like a better deal though I don't buy much on ebay.
