Man, who would have thought that dropped TD pass for Alabama on 1st and goal when they were ahead 21-0 in the 2nd quarter would come back to bite them like that? They never got back into the end zone...

Which of course feeds into my paranoia about tomorrow -- the last time I was this confident about a Buckeye win was 1969 -- and if Tressel's teams have a down side it's what they do once they reach the red zone. I'll have bad dreams about this tonight -- and then wake up to Across the Field and hope that all this paranoia is misplaced.
GO BUCKS!

I just watched the replay of the McElroy getting knocked out of the game. If you get the chance, look at his eyes when he's laying on the ground after bouncing his head off the turf. It had to be the most disgusting blank stare I have ever seen. I'd put it up there with McGahee blowing his knee out.

Interesting fact: other than this time and the last two times this year, McElroy has never loss a game since grade school...

Truly fascinating

I wonder why the media never mentioned that?
McElroy has a Heisman running back, the best wide receiver in college football, and a top-five defense. With all that talent surrounding him, what's even more amazing is that he could somehow manage to lose three games in one season.

'Bama employee fired over songs

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- The University of Alabama has fired an employee who played songs aimed at Auburn quarterback Cam Newton before the Iron Bowl.
University spokeswoman Debbie Lane said Monday that the part-time staffer was fired for the unauthorized songs. Take the Money and Run and Son of a Preacher Man were played while Newton and the Tigers warmed up. The NCAA has been investigating allegations that Newton's father, a pastor, solicited $180,000 from Mississippi State during recruiting.
Lane said in a statement that all music and videos played in the stadium before and during games have to be approved by a senior athletic administrator. She said the staffer -- who was not named -- didn't get those songs cleared.
The Tuscaloosa News first reported the firing.

Regardless of the irony of Alabama making fun of Auburn over pay-for-play, this is a pathetic move. They claim this is one of the fiercest rivalries in sports, but it's not OK to play a couple songs that might offend the other team's delicate sensibilities? Fuck off!

And what were the sensibility offending songs played and sanctioned by tOSU administration at The Game last weekend, pray tell?

I assume the Dead Schembechlers were blaring out the stadium speakers at pre-game?

Probably none, but if our PA guy did that to scUM (or if they did it to us) I wouldn't want this kind of reaction over it. It's a heated rivalry - it should come with the territory.

I'm sure 99.9% of Tahd fans agree with you. But as there was an official policy NOT to play music that was not approved, I don't know how you expect an employer to ignore an intentional violation of company rules that brings about complaints from an in-state conference rival.

As a Gator fan I hope they find a song that starts out, "The black and red polyester clad [censored]tards from Georgia are so dumb they spit Skoal out closed pickup truck windows on their way to a yet another humiliating defeat in Jacksonville, and that a class action has been filed against Georgia by several [censored]tards because the Dawgs were besmirching the good name of [censored]tard..." - but as much I as would love to hear it and concur with its playing, I would expect Foley to take action if rules were broken.

Of course, I would try to hire him or her as a temp....
