Hogs with a solid 38-14 win over an #15 Auburn team that was a bit over-rated. Even though the Hogs were down by a TD twice in the first half, it never really felt like the Tigers had much of a chance to win this one.
The identity of this Razorback team is starting to come into focus. The Hogs seem to start slow, then settle down and play pretty solid.
The Razorback offense is very good in the pass game and is showing signs of life in the run game - they are at least doing enough to keep defenses honest. The Hog defense is starting to tackle better and is doing a better job of limiting big plays.
QB Tyler Wilson had another very solid day, going 24/36 for 262 yards with 2 TDs and no INTs. He also ran for a TD. He completed 19 in a row at one point, good for third all-time in the SEC.
Receiver Joe Adams had a spectacular 92 yard TD run out of the backfield to open the second half for a two touchdown lead, and the game was never in question after that.
The Hog defense had three INTs for the day and after allowing Auburn RB Michael Dyer (Little Rock native) a 55 yard TD in the first quarter, pretty much shut him down for the rest of the day.
After a fast start, Auburn couldn't get anything going and were shutout after the first quarter.
With this win, the Hogs are ahead of where they were at the same point last year. The Hogs should be favored to win every game until the last game at LSU on the day after Thanksgiving.
A return trip to the BCS is not out of the question at this point but the Hogs will need to either beat LSU straight up in Red Stick, or get some help from someone in taking out Alabama or LSU. Unlikely, but still possible.
With a bye week coming, the Hogs have a chance to get healthy and work on some issues before going to Oxford to face Mississippi and their old coach, Houston Dale Nutt.
