For all those clueless athletic directors out there without a head coach or might be considering firing their current one, get your checkbooks out and hire Norm Chow. Unless this guy flat out says he never wants to be a head coach someone needs to hire him now. And don't tell me you cannot afford him. He will make you money with putting butts in the seats.
 
I said before the season started that Washington should hire Norm Chow for $2 million/year.​

Then I couldn't believe Stanford went for Walt Harris.​

Why would Pete leave?

He has a great job. He makes alot of money, He doesn't have a GM, or owner to answer to. The people out there love him.
He has the great program right now, and they willl get better.
He's in Southern Cal.

USC can pay him what ever they need to keep him.

There is nothing better than that...

Chow's been a bigtime assistant for well over 20 years--I don't see any reason that he needs to start over as a HC, especially as the highest-paid asst in CFB with a couple of rings already.

But of course I wouldn't mind seeing Petey return to his losing ways in the NFL one bit.

Unlikely as hell to happen. He has consistently stated he _greatly_ favors college over pro. It'd take more than a boat-load of money to get him to go back to the NFL.

Just heard on 1460 tonight that he's really been down in the dumps since he hasn't got a head coaching job yet.

Don't know where Mililani came up with that nonsense.

It was during one of the broadcasts of a USC game eariler in the season where one of the commentators reacted to a statement along the lines of "Why hasn't anyone hired Chow as a head coach?", with a response that Chow doesn't want to be anything other than an OC and just loves running the offense at USC. Hey, if he really wanted to be a HC, then why hasn't he interviewed directly for any of the other HC openings? He's had plenty of opportunities (didn't he just all but tell Syracuse "Thanks but not thanks"?).
