The one argument about this record that I don't buy is the garbage time argument. If garbage time were a relevant factor wouldn't some other player on a shit team have come close to the record before now?

He's gonna have a shot at breaking the 2000-yard mark next week. That would be pretty special.

Jerry Rice had Roger Craig, Ricky Watters, Brent Jones, etc to keep defenses at bay... oh and 2 hall of fame QBs.

The lions have absolutely nothing. Defenses send 3 guys after Megatron and he still dominates.

Well he used to have quite a few weapons around him but this year they are all hurt and or brain dead

While I'm prepared to give serious congrats to Megatron for the
Upcoming record. To me - its just not as impressive in this day
And age with 'this' NFL. Rice's numbers will always be more
Meaningful to me.

Again, taking nothing away from Calvin - he is a special, special talent.

I'm not so sure about this comment. "This" NFL has been around for several years, yet nobody has even sniffed the record. Calvin could conceivably shatter it.
