Army Vs Navy (at The Linc, in Philly)

Much like the Tet Offensive, that was an ass kicking of serious magnitude that ended up being portrayed in the media as being a loss for our side. I think it is pretty funny how Marines like to portray the Pacific Theater in World War II as being all Navy and Marines when the Marines had significant assistance from the Army.

As far as us leaving you losers alone, the last time that happened the Marines decided to ignore recommendations from the State Department and analysis from both their own intelligence services and the Navy as well about how horrifically lax their security was. Over two hundred Marines ended up paying with their lives because their superiors were idiots, then President Ronald Reagan goes on to make a quote (not originally stated by him by the way) that Marines point to with ignorant pride when the only reason Preisdent Reagan said it was because the Marines failed themselves in the first place.

We need a football team more then we need luck, pogue.

Since the Army had aboslutely no presence in Beruit, confirmed on the phone about an hour ago with former SSgt. Bryant, a friend who survived the bombing, you can hardly say we faltered due to your absence.

Yes, a small group of four Marines did not do a thorough check of a truck that they saw everyday at a distant check point. That failure sits on them. But if the only way to make yourself feel better is to point to something that had absolutely nothing to do with the Army, then go for it.

We can say that often the two forces have worked well together. As long we yell "Taxi!!!" and the Navy comes runnning.

There is actually a lot more to it then that but alas, I'm at work and don't have too much time. Everybody and their brother was screaming for more security yet the security situation was not improved to the level that was being called for.

Did you even read what you had initially stated?

What I had said in my initial post was purely in jest but you went over the line afterwards and I responded in kind, you shouldn't act offended or erect a halo over your head.

Since the conversation has gone past routine military/football trash talk, feel free to continue this discussion in the political forum, guys, if and when it resumes.

And thanks to all who have served their country.
