I get it if the guy actively tries to leap over the blockers, but Mitchell just jumped to try to block the kick and the blockers upended him.

I think it was horribly enforced he jumped to block it he didn't try to jump over the line which is what that penalty is for. Aka the jump the blockers on the field goal
