Arizona State Sun Devils (official thread)

Cal is obviously just a shell of the team it appeared to be a month ago. They are in the midst of a collapse of Sparty proportions. The announcers in this game called Cal "the Chicago Cubs of the Pac-10". I can't think of a better descriptor.

It looks like ASU is gonna come out of this game with another W. Everybody's gonna talk about Oregon because they beat USC and were on TV at 3PM ET rather than 3AM ET. (OK, not 3AM, but it's close enough.) My point is, this may have been ASU's first real test, and people still aren't going to know much about them. People are gonna talk about Oregon (and deservedly so, they're playing really well) but they're looking up at ASU in the BCS and Pac-10 standings.

And yet College Gameday will probably be all excited about NICK SABAN AND ALABAMA AGAINST THE GODLIKE TIGERS OF LSU!

ASU/Oregon has high stakes, but I have a sinking feeling that ESPN is going to hype up the Saban/LSU storyline to death.

My point is that I feel that Arizona State and Oregon, a game that is now OFFICIALLY high-stakes (ASU game just went final), will probably not get most of the hype and attention it CLEARLY deserves.
