During the Iowa game (halftime) they ran an iPhone4 commercial...

They REALLY ran a commercial about their Lithium Polymer battery? You CANNOT buy a cell phone that doesn't have a Li-poly battery. It is not possible. Some call them Li-ion, but they're ALL Li-poly (Li-Poly is a subset of Li-ion). The energy density of Li-poly batteries doesn't differ by 10% from the best battery to the worst (by that metric). And the best by that metric are typically hideously unreliable.

Not bashing the iPhone4... I'm about to buy one.

But that is about the stupidest reason to tout your smartphone there is.
yea, but if you dont know squat it sounds cool. or better yet if youre a wanna be computer nerd...

I'm due for an upgrade through AT&T, but I bought a Nexus One last year. I've got insurance, so if it gets lost, stolen or broken I am covered. I'm considering buying an iphone 4, jailbreaking it and selling it on Ebay. Anyone ever done this?

Could it be done without buying it before starting the auction?

Radio Shack is offering some strong incentives to would-be Apple iPhone purchasers. For the next week, through December 11, the retailer will be offering $50 off of all its iPhone handsets to new AT&T customers and existing AT&T customers elligible for an upgrade. The company is also offering an improved trade-in value for working iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS handsets that could allow a user upgrading from an iPhone 3GS to walk out of the store with a new iPhone 4 for only $25. The offer and trade-in incentives are only valid at Radio Shack's retail stores.

Did parts from a new iPhone model (briefly) appear on YouTube?

The odds are resoundingly against any surprise CES announcements concerning Apple’s iPhone (Apple will reportedly wait to around Valentine’s Day for that). But that’s not stopping a new wave of iPhone speculation fueled by leaked photos and videos that seem to show parts belonging to a device that is very similar an iPhone 4 — but not quite.

allegedly it seems a new iphone 5 will be out this year? any rumblings? any guesses on time frames? i was considering upgrading to i4, but if i5 is out mid-late summer i may consider waiting.

Apple usually releases things in June- no word if the i5 will also be available for Verizon folks (if that matters) or will be compatible with the new LTE (4G) networks ATT/Ver are creating.

iPhones in June
iPods in September
iPads in April?

You can pretty much count on it every year I think.
